Spending time alone is not the same as being lonely. Take a walk along a beach in the early morning or just before the light fades and you’ll be rewarded with sights and sounds that will amaze you.For many of us, this is only possible in our dreams. From the point of view of your brain, an experience created by your imagination is just as real, just as beneficial. So don’t hold back, don’t deprive yourself of a late night walk along an imaginary beach – the sound of the gently lapping waves, the cry of the seabirds, the tangy sea salt air and the subtle change in light as color gradually fades into shade. Stand there, completely alone, completely happy, completely safe. You can choose to use your thoughts to make you feel better.
